How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Most full kitchen remodels run 4 to 8 weeks from demo day to final walk-through. Smaller projects (cabinet refresh, countertop swap) can finish in 1 to 2 weeks. Tom will give you a firm timeline at your in-home estimate — and we stick to it.
How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Chicagoland?
Most of our full kitchen remodels range from $15,000 to $85,000 depending on scope, materials, and layout changes. Cabinet refreshes start around $8,000. We give you an exact number after Tom's on-site visit — no guessing games, no hidden fees, no surprises.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. As a licensed general contractor in Illinois, we pull every permit your project needs and coordinate all inspections with the village. You never deal with the village hall.
Can I stay in my home during the remodel?
Most of our clients do. We seal off the work area with plastic sheeting and zip walls to keep dust out of the rest of the house, set up a temporary kitchen if needed, and clean up at the end of every day. We respect your home like it is our own.
Are your cabinets custom or stock?
We work with both. Stock and semi-custom lines (KraftMaid, Medallion, Wellborn) when budget is the priority; full-custom shops when the layout or finish requires it. We will recommend the right tier for your project at the estimate.
What's included in your written proposal?
A line-by-line scope with materials, finishes, fixtures, demolition, electrical, plumbing, drywall, paint, flooring, lighting, and labor. A firm price. A timeline. Payment milestones. We don't do vague "allowance" line items that turn into surprises later.
How do you handle change orders?
In writing, with a clear price and timeline impact, before any work changes. You sign off, we proceed. Most of our remodels finish without any change orders because we plan thoroughly upfront.
Do you do design work too, or just build?
Both. Tom and the team will help you finalize your layout, cabinet style, finishes, and fixtures. If you already have a designer or are working with a showroom, we collaborate seamlessly.
